Anyway, the employees have the right to listen to the radio during work. This stupid bitch who is close to her forty's is listening to fucking radio Disney. Trying to ignore it, I turned on my C.D. player. A radio commercial came on her little stereo, advertising Pokemon merchandise. "Pokemon can kiss my butt" she said to me. I ignored her and continued with my work. "Do you know why I said that?" she asked. "No" I said. "Well, because Pokemon is created in Japan, and Japanese people are SATANIC" she yelled out as if making a valid point. I was then compelled to hear this stupid bitch preach this utter bullshit. "Why do you say that?" Asking her. She looked at me in relief that I am joining her conversation, "Because Japan doesn't believe in GOD!". I became angry because here was this woman, judging other people for not being Christian, thinking she was perfect with that ugly face. Stating that people who don't believe in God are Satan followers. When in truth, without god, there is no Satan, so why, if you don't believe in God, would you believe in something that "GOD" created? I stood up and walked over to her desk, reached down and grabbed a permanent big ass marker and wrote 666 on her hand. I then proceeded to unplug her stereo and cut the cord. And then, me with a grin and her with a shocked look, I said, "Isn't that your Toyota outside?". Needless to say I got fired, but it was worth every minute of that humiliation she received. I've read a lot on your site, and I think you are, for the most part, correct. Everything on your site, opinions. I like to hear others opinions on god. I've been a long time disbliever, and have trouble concieving why people believe in "god", short of the fact that people wish to believe in something more powerful than themselvs, to give them a reason to live. Religion is not need to make the world a "good" place to live, common sence is. I got into a religious debate with my father, I asked him to take a step back from all his beliefs, and look at religion, he said he was doing that, and proved other wise. Most christians, catholics, and other religous blindmen, are incapable to take a step back and look at it logicaly. The most logical people in the world, if they are religious, can't take a step back to look at it logicaly. Your site is great, a major reason for that, is that there are a lot of non-believers out there, that want to talk to someone about it or hear other ! ideas, yet cannot in this society. You give them opinions, things to think about. The reason you get hate mail, I believe is because people read it, and get scared, the only reasons christans read it, is because they are curious. If they really believe in "god" why go to a site called no-god.com, and if they get there, why do they read? They are curious, and have doubts that they do not want to accept, they don't want them there. Religions, and many laws in this country, counter with our instincs, we don't put a dog in prision for takin' a piss on a fire hydrant, or licking himself in public, let a human do it, he's a sex offender, and everything else. I refuse to believe that we have instincs, given to us by "god" yet we are supposed to deny them at every turn. Thats irrational to the max. Why would you give someone a gift of five dollars, and expect them not to spend it? You wouldn't. Some of the ignorant people who wrote you emails also said that athiests are loners, goth! s, nerds and so on, and that they beat them. Would thier "god" approve of beating for someone for not believing? No. Not all athiests are loners, most of us have large groups of friends. Goths, self hatred and suicidal, I doubt most of us are that way. Just because one disbelieves in "god" does it mean he's automaticaly a nerd, or some scrawny guy you can beat up? I think not. The way you think has nothing to do with your physical make up, for the most part. I don't bash religions, I acturaly have taken several good ideas from christian, catholic, wiccan, and pagan religions, and turned the ideas into a common since structer. They were good ideas, non of them have anything to do with the supernatural... just good old common sence. I live in a small little white ass suberb and EVERYONE is either catholic or baptist, I have tried to hide the fact that I don't believe in God at all, but the people in 8th grade are REALLY so arrogant as to try to convert me on a daily bases (I swear, they do) and I think now, after reading some of the stuff on your site I may actually be able to shut them up, thanks so much for taking the time to make such a great website! you are asking the wrong question and instead of giving you a sacrastic answer like i normally would (you didn't tell me i'd burn in hell, so your letter didn't annoy me) i will explain the flaws in your question and answer the question you should have asked. i don't believe in the supernatual at all, therefore if you mention anything beyond my physical life, it will mean nothing to me, simply because as far as i know there is nothing beyond our mortal lives. theistic beliefs many times do believe that there is some kind of life after death, which i do not agree with based on the total lack of evidence and the impossibility of ever finding such evidence. the impossibility of ever finding evidence of some supernatural phenomenom like life after death makes any belief in such things nothing more than wishful thinking. i try my best not to wish things into existence, rather i work with what's obviously real. your question should have been phrased as such: "if you die in the next five minutes, what will happen to your body and mind?" i say it this way, because when you are dead, you cannot "GO" anywhere, your body is imobilized and useless. people do not have a supernatural soul, as far as i know, so i have no intention of travling to any one of the many afterlives that various religions offer for their good/bad believers. and since this is primarily a christian question i shall asume you are refering to the heaven/hell after life, which i do not believe in and therefore do not worry about. it's not scary to me to think about what will happen when i die, because there will be no concious brain function for me to care about my own death. and even though believers are scared shitless that they might suffer for eternity if they are not good little boys and girls, i am not at all worried about such things. however two things will happen to myself/the people who used to share oin my life. #1) my own body will begin the process of decomposition and whomever takes responsibility for it willl dispose of it as they see fit, i really don't give a damn nor will i be able to when the time comes. #2) my life will be remembered by those who i have touched, family, friends, my sadistic fans :) these are the people who will give me eternal life even beyond the death of my physical body. this is why we have history class, we need to remember thse who made the world what it is today and hopefully before i die i will have at least a small part in our world's history. as for explaining the enduring myth of god, i really cannot. i personally have no clue why anyone whould believe in something just because they are scared of the alternative possibilities. i have guesses, but they are only that, i am no psycologist or a social scientist. i just interperite the world and give a new opinion to those who want to listen. but if you really want to know why i think people continue to believe, it probobly has something to do with the need for approval, safty, and power. we need a big parental figure telling us we were good today and we need to know our lives are safe and we need/want to think we are superior or more powerful than everyone else. this is essentialy what most people will say and i think it is a pretty good guess.

You are misrepresenting freethought in the most reprehensible way. I pride myself of being a freethinker and an atheist to boot. A true freethinker would consider satanism and the occult just as idiotic and as irrational as faith in a supernatural being or in some predigested religious dogma. Your site does not fight for freethought. It buries it under still more irrational garbage. You still have a lot of learning and maturing to do. And watch out for those mispelled "big" words.

lol! you're too funny dude! freethought is not as simple and boring as you seem to think it is. freethought refers to a few basic guidelines which one follows including, but not limited to: lack of irrational belief, open-mindedness -without being overly eager to accept an unproven idea, thinking on your own not simply following the crowd as herd religions teach, respect for those who deserve it not respect for those who demand it, etc... It's about making your own rational decisions without feeling a need to conform to a norm. if you say freethought is limited to simply atheism-agnosticism and the basic humanistic philosophy, then you are not much of a freethinker. all non-thistic, rational, philosophies that encourage individual thought and encourage learning and mental growth are to be labeled as freethought philosophies. satanism is purely atheistic and while satanists enjoy the little word-game with "Satan" it's not necissarily anti-christian-devil-worship B.S. as most would think, though some do enjoy a bit of blasphemous humor (myself included). maybe one day you'll realise that not everyone must conform to your own personal philosophy and that maybe, just maybe others are just as much a freethinker (if not more-so) than yourself. :)

Well, you illiterate bastard, I do tolerate god belief quite well. I am quite fond of the many Pagan/Wiccan belief systems, I only disagree with the herd mentality that goes along with the psycotic xtian religion. There is nothing hypocritical about me, I say what I mean, you just have to actually read more than the title (if you read even that much) to understand what my views are. Not only that, but there is a very clear warning, so that if you feel your mind is too weak or you are some loser who gets so easlily offended that you must respond with hate-filled email, then you are not welcome at my site. I just visited your site and I would like to say that I am all for free thought. I think everyone should have the right to think what they please. However, I didn't have to read far to find something that puzzled me. You said that it is your mission "To promote freethought and Humanistic values in today's society & eleminate or at least lessen the need for religious institutions. My personal wish, is for a world without any religion, but until then, I just want people to(at the very least) tolerate each other's views!" My question for you is this: how is it that you can say you "promote freethought" and at the same time you say you want to eleminate what is a great example of people expressing their right to freethought. I couldn't go on any farther on your page, I found it difficult considering you contradicted yourself in the first paragraph. P.S. Something to consider... First of all I'd like to say that I'm a Christian and have been for a few years now. Now I know you probably don't agree with me but here's something I always think about when someone say's there is no God: Let's say that you're right. There is no God and we are all here as a result of evolution and there is no heaven or hell. In this case neither of us have lost or gained anything out of life. We both will have went on our own ways, enjoyed the life we chose to live, and when we die we will both do nothing but fertilize a small patch of grass somewhere. Now let's say, just hypothetically speaking, that somehow I'm right. Once again, I've lost nothing. In fact, I've gained quite a bit. By becoming a Christian I would get to go to heaven. You, on the other hand, will have lost a lot. After your life here on earth you will spend eternity in hell. That's a pretty big price to pay for choosing to believe there is no God. My point is, either way I lose nothing in the deal even if I'm wrong, and if you're wrong, you've lost everything (quite literally).

Firstly, if you had even attempted to read the very first article on my page, you might have actually learend that Freethought, is not about being all for the right for Humans to think! Freethought is anti-religion, it is against anything that limits one's ability to think critically and rationally on ANY subject. Religion sets up certain guidelines and therefore limits the believer's options when coming to a conclusion. For example: Homosexuality is plainly and simply condemed as an abomination, so the christian MUST find the homosexual to be a sinner or they are going against their own moral code! For the Freethinker, there is no problem, because the individual can be judged on his/her own merits not on personal taste. So... My statement about limiting the need for religious institutions goes hand-in-hand with Freethought. There is no contradiction about it. As for your statement about your position being so much better than mine in regards to you losing nothing, but gaining everythin and my losing everything and gaining nothing. This is what is known as "Pascal's Wager," there are several MAJOR flaws in this arguement and it never survives even the simplest questioning. ~"Avoiding the wrong hell." The first problem begins with you choosing a god [in your case the xtian god, through jesus], but since there are literally thousands of very different gods, how can you be sure you are avoiding the wrong hell? I can just imagine the suprise you'll feel after a long holy life as a xtian and end up in Islamic hell after you die! HAHA! ~"God is not a dumbass!" You think this is some sort of clever game you're playing? Well, unless your god just happened to be on vacation the entire time you were a xtian, I'm sure he will have noticed that your sole purpose for believing was to avoid eternal agony in hell. A true beleiver doesn't need to be threatend with eternal suffering, god will know this and cast you out for the fake you are. ~"No god = NO loss right?... Wrong!" Just because you don't end up suffering for eternity doesn't mean you haven't lost anything. Just think about all those long hours of praying, converting, and churching you spent for nothing. Oh and of course you must have spent tons of money to support your church like all good xtians do! And don't forget that with you narrow-minded view of the world, you have managed to lose out on all sorts of wonderful discoveries in science and philosophy. You also supported the absolute morality of xtianity, even though god never said that it was right and you have now become intolerant and bigoted (leaving a nasty impression on the rest of society and family members). Don't try to say you lost nothing. ~"General belief will due just fine, but Atheism = HELL!" Sorry, but no cookie! This assumption denies every deity it's own personality an lumps them all together into one glob of supernatural piece of shit. Every god has its own personality and its own worship preferences.
